Help & FAQ

Everything you need to set up Vocce, manage call forwarding, and get the most out of your assistant.

How Vocce works

How a Vocce call flows: caller dials you, the call forwards while you're busy, Vocce answers in your voice, then texts you an SMS summary Caller dials you Someone rings your line Forwards if you can't Only when you're busy or miss it Vocce answers In your own voice SMS summary Who called & why Your phone rings first. Vocce only answers when you can't.

Vocce is your personal AI phone assistant. It answers your calls when you are busy and can place calls on your behalf, speaking more than 100 languages and automatically detecting and switching to the caller's language.

Here is what happens on a typical call:

  1. You forward your unanswered calls to your dedicated Vocce number. When you sign up, you are assigned a phone number that is yours to forward to.
  2. When you cannot pick up, Vocce answers in the voice you have chosen. It greets the caller warmly, finds out who is calling, and learns why they are reaching you.
  3. As soon as the call ends, you receive an SMS summary with the caller's name, their number, the reason for the call, and how urgent it is.

Every call is also saved as a full transcript in your dashboard, so you can read back exactly what was said whenever you need the detail. The summary gives you the gist in seconds; the dashboard keeps the complete record.

Vocce uses the Context you provide to handle callers the way you would, and the Voice and Language settings to sound the way you want. You stay in control of all of these from the app or dashboard at any time.

Set up call forwarding

Vocce uses conditional forwarding: your phone rings first, and a call only goes to Vocce when you’re busy or can’t pick up. You keep your own number, you can always answer yourself, and Vocce quietly covers what you miss — instead of voicemail. The Vocce app sets this up for you in one tap with "Enable Decline to Vocce"; the codes below are for setting it up manually.

The exact dial codes depend on your country and carrier, and differ between mobile, landline, and VoIP lines. Pick your country below for step-by-step codes.

Universal fallbacks

  • Verify forwarding: dial *#67# on GSM networks, or call your number from another phone to confirm Vocce answers.
  • Cancel all forwarding at once: ##002# on GSM networks, or *73 on US carriers.

🇺🇸United States

Mobile

  • AT&T, T-Mobile (GSM): activate **67*[your Vocce number]#, cancel ##67#.
  • Verizon, US Cellular (CDMA): activate *71[your Vocce number], cancel *73.

Landline

  • Verizon Home, AT&T Home: activate *71[your Vocce number], cancel *73.
  • Some Verizon lines use *90 (busy) / *92 (no answer).

VoIP

On Vonage, RingCentral, Spectrum Voice, or Xfinity Voice, dial codes don’t work — set forwarding from your provider’s online dashboard or app.

Verify

Dial *#67# (GSM carriers), or call your number from another phone to confirm Vocce answers.

Alternative: use your Vocce number directly

Two ways to use Vocce: forward your existing number so calls route to Vocce when you're busy, or give out your dedicated Vocce number directly Forward your number Keep the line people already have Nothing changes for your callers Calls route to Vocce when busy Set up once with your carrier Best if you want to keep your existing number. NO SETUP Use your Vocce number A dedicated line, ready instantly Give it out directly — no carrier setup Vocce answers every call from the start Keep work and personal lines separate Best for a fresh, fully‑screened number.

You do not have to forward your personal line. Instead, you can hand out your dedicated Vocce number directly and let people call it whenever they want Vocce to answer. Both approaches use the same Vocce number; the difference is whether it sits behind your personal line or in front of it.

ApproachProsCons
Forward your personal lineSeamless for people who already have your number; nothing new for them to learn; Vocce steps in only when you miss a call.Requires carrier forwarding setup; codes differ by carrier.
Give out your Vocce numberNo carrier forwarding to configure; keeps your personal number private; clean separation of work and personal calls.Contacts must save and use a new number; it is not your existing line, so it is less seamless for people who already call you.

When each makes sense

  • Forwarding is ideal when you want Vocce to quietly back up your existing number and replace voicemail.
  • Giving out the Vocce number is ideal for a new business or booking line, for screening unknown callers, or when you want to keep your personal number private.

Settings explained

You configure how Vocce sounds and behaves from the app or dashboard. The four core settings are below.

Voice

Choose the voice your assistant uses on every call. You can change it any time in the app or dashboard settings, and the new voice applies to your next call.

Context

Context is the background you give Vocce so it can handle callers the way you would: your name, your business, your hours, and how you want callers treated, including what to say and what not to say. The more specific you are, the better Vocce performs. Good examples:

  • "I'm a real-estate agent; take the caller's name, number, and which property they're asking about."
  • "Tell callers I'm in meetings until 3pm and offer to take a message."

SMS summary

The SMS summary is the text message you receive right after each call ends. It includes the caller's name, their number, the reason they called, and an urgency level, so you can decide at a glance whether to call back now or later. For the full word-for-word record, open the call transcript in your dashboard.

Language

Language sets your assistant's default language. Vocce supports more than 100 languages and automatically detects and switches to the caller's language during the call, so you are covered even when someone calls in a different language than your default. Change the default any time in settings.

Subscription & cancellation

Vocce offers three plans. Minutes are combined inbound and outbound per month. There is no contract, and you can cancel anytime.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by the app store you purchased through, under their policies:

Data & privacy

To operate the service, Vocce stores your call transcripts, call summaries, the caller's number, the profile and context you provide, and your usage statistics. This information is used to run Vocce and deliver your summaries and transcripts.

Vocce does not sell your data.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and data at any time from your dashboard account settings, or by contacting support. Deleting your account removes your data and releases your Vocce number.
