Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Vocce is operated by Saadia Publication Inc., a company incorporated in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Vocce is a personal AI phone assistant that answers calls when you are busy and makes calls on your behalf.

For questions about this policy, contact us at support@vocce.app.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — name, email address, phone number, and profile preferences you provide during registration.
  • About-me context — text you provide describing yourself, your business, hours, services, etc., used by Vocce during calls to answer questions on your behalf.
  • Call metadata — call duration, phone numbers involved, timestamps, and call direction (inbound or outbound).
  • Transcripts and summaries — text transcripts generated during calls and AI-generated summaries sent to you after each call.
  • Voicemail recordings (transient) — when an inbound caller reaches your number while you are already on a Vocce call, their message is recorded by Twilio for up to 30 seconds, transcribed by Google Gemini, and the resulting summary saved to your account. The original audio recording is deleted from Twilio within 24 hours of transcription.
  • Subscription data — plan type, billing status, and remaining monthly call minutes, managed through RevenueCat (in-app) or Stripe (website).
  • Device information — device type, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting purposes.

3. Voice Audio Processing

Vocce streams voice audio in real time to Google Gemini for AI-powered conversation. This is how Vocce understands and responds during phone calls.

Important: Voice audio is processed in real time and is not stored by Vocce or by Google after the call ends. Voice audio is not used to train any AI models. Every call begins with an AI disclosure: "This is the Vocce AI assistant on a recorded line."

The only exception is voicemail (Section 2): a brief recording is held by Twilio long enough for Gemini to transcribe it, then deleted.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and operate the Vocce phone assistant service.
  • To generate call transcripts and summaries and deliver them to you via SMS and the app.
  • To manage your subscription and enforce per-plan call limits.
  • To improve service reliability, diagnose technical issues, and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To enforce our Acceptable Use Policy, including detecting and preventing prohibited use cases (telemarketing, debt collection, political robocalls — see Terms of Service §4).
  • To comply with applicable laws, including Quebec Law 25, PIPEDA (Canada), GDPR (where applicable), and US state privacy laws.

5. Third-Party Services

Vocce relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each operates under its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

  • Google Gemini — real-time voice AI processing. Audio is streamed, not stored.
  • Twilio — phone call routing, SMS delivery, voicemail recording (transient), and call metadata. (Replaces Vonage as of 2026-04-24.)
  • Supabase — secure database storage for user profiles, call logs, transcripts, and summaries.
  • RevenueCat — in-app subscription management (iOS and Android).
  • Stripe — website subscription payments (when applicable).

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security enabled on all tables. We use encrypted connections (TLS) for all data in transit. API keys and credentials are never exposed to the frontend. Account passwords are managed through Supabase Auth and never stored in plaintext.

7. SMS Summaries

After every call, Vocce sends an SMS summary to your registered phone number. This summary includes the caller's name (if provided), the reason for the call, and any action items.

8. Data Retention

  • Call transcripts and summaries are retained in your account for as long as your account is active.
  • Voicemail audio recordings are deleted within 24 hours of transcription.
  • You may request deletion of your data at any time. Account deletion via the in-app Delete Account flow removes all associated transcripts, summaries, contacts, and subscription records within 30 days.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise these rights, email support@vocce.app or use the in-app Delete Account option.

10. Children

Vocce is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. International Transfers

Vocce processes data in Canada and the United States. By using the service, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions. Where required, we apply contractual safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers to third-party providers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes to this policy through the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
